HOPALONG CASSIDY LUNCH BOX
- 1950-53 Aladdin Industries. 8.25" x 7.5" x 3.5. Blue flat metal with 4.25" x 3.25" full color decal.
Nice western imagery featuring "Hoppy" (William Boyd), the popular 1930s - 1950s western cowboy star.
This is considered by many as the first TV character-related lunch box. It's release is what many consider to be the beginning of the "Golden Age" of lunch boxes.
Condition is considered FAIR with miscellaneous surface/scuff/edge wear. Misc. paint/rim wear with scattered moderate dents on box. Lunch box decal is in FAIR condition with surface staining & spot surface/edge chipping. Colors still hold up well. Moderate surface metal oxidation, most noticeably on bare metal areas of inner box. Handle is still well fastened & latch still works well. Thermos is not included.
Overall, despite defects, we feel this set is still in very displayable condition by most standards (see photos).
