    Description

This lunchbox belonged to my grandfather and was given to me by my grandmother shortly after his death in 1961 just shy of his 62nd birthday because he and I were so close. Unfortunately, neither of my two children or two grandsons have any interest in it, so now I, as someone who is nearly a decade older than my grandfather was at his death, is looking for a good home for this black metal camelback lunch box.
I do not know what happened to the thermos, which it obviously had at one time because of the holder in the top is still there and intact. It needs cleaning but most of the original black paint on the exterior is intact and both the latches on the front and the three rear hinges work well but should be given a shot of DW-40 to preserve their integrity. The metal handle collapses flat, as it should.
I have been buying coins and selling coins and small antiques on eBay for just about longer than anyone here--23 years, really, check my perfect feedback--because I am an avid collector of Lincoln cents, Morgan silver dollars and 19th century one-gallon milk crocks and fruit jars.
If you have a question, please do not hesitate to ask because as a long retired newspaper editor, I know that the only dumb question is the one not asked.
