    My mom painted and decoupaged this old lunchbox in the late 60's with antique newspaper clippings from her hometown of LeMars, Iowa. She replaced the original handle with macrame.
    The lunchbox is 6 1/2" tall, 9" long, and about 4 1/2" thick. It is lined on the inside with orange felt and the bottom is covered in the same felt. There are a spots of paint loss that are noticeable in the photos. The macrame handle is somewhat dirty, more so on the underneath side.
    There are ads for Singer sewing machines, Mennen's Flesh Tint Talcum, Shredded Wheat Dishes, Royal Baking Powder, Jell-o, Chase & Sanborn Famous Boston Coffees, Dolly Dimple Kid Body Dolls, Dr. Pritchard's Prescription for Ladies, and Junket Tablets, as well as local LeMars businesses.
