ROY ROGERS METAL LUNCHBOX AND METAL/GLASS THERMOS from American Thermos 1953.
This extremely rare R-7 lunchkit is the first of many AT kits featuring Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
The box and thermos are narrower than those that followed.
Features Roy up on his trusty Palomino "Trigger" - with Dale waving her hat and hand welcoming all to their Double R Bar Ranch along with their German Shepard companion "Bullet".
The back panel has the RR brand framed by rope in the center.  The thermos also has Roy, Dale, Trigger and Bullet posing and wood grain back.
The Roy Rogers kits began the competition between Aladdin and Thermos for lunch box supremacy – and therefore represent an important piece for the collector.
Beautifully designed by Ed Wexler – staff illustrator for American Can Company – who designed most of American Thermos’s kits from 1953-1964.
A classic western Americana collectible – and key kit for the lunchbox collector!
A truly wonderful example of this key western lunchkit!
Condition: Box and thermos are complete and correct (including original wire thermos cork).
Box panels are clean and glossy throughout - with just a few light scratches and rubbings.  Very light rim wear on front - just a tad heavier on back.  No corner dents or dimples - and nice and shiny metal hardware (especially for a box nearly 70 years old!).
Inside of box is also very clean with no prior owner markings – in overall strong Excellent plus C-8.5 condition.
Thermos lithos are clean throughout with a light rattle when shaken – in strong Excellent plus C-8.5  condition.
From my personal collection – stored carefully in a cool, dry, smoke-free room away from sunlight.
